Omni Tech Support For Fixing Your PC Issues

It’s not easy to pass up on the chance to get assistance with your computer issues. At least, not if they’re disruptive enough to have you pulling your hair out. In the physical world, there’s no guarantee of finding someone at once, who can help you fix the problem. It’s at times like these that you really understand the use of technical support. People overlook how helpful and easily accessible such services can be.

Your typical tech support handles calls round the clock, which means that you can call them anytime and they’ll be there to see to your problems. This is one of the reasons why many such companies have grown substantially in the past decade, and still continue to do so. One of these is Omni Tech Support.

If you’ve tried them out already, you don’t need to be told of the speediness and effectiveness of the services OmniTech Support provides. This company has been in the field for more than 10 years now, and in that time it has racked up an impressive base of loyal customers. They’re so popular that there are even a few Omni Tech Support ripoff outfits trying to make money off the name. The company advises people to call the official hotline number, and not to answer inbound calls offering support services.

Omni Tech Support only handles calls made to their hotline number, where the caller can explain their computer issues and receive support services for it. This includes assistive troubleshooting as well as alternate issue detection, and then if a problem is found, the technician at the other end can provide instructions for the repair procedure. If the caller would rather not be inconvenienced, there’s the alternate option of remote assistance. This allows the technician to take control of the PC and perform the repair operations, while the caller watches the proceedings on the monitor.

This has been a hugely popular and successful way of doing business, and former callers frequently write up gracious reviews about the company. It’s a measure of this success that quite a few Omni Tech Support ripoff outfits have sprung up, but people can avoid these by paying attention to the details. One thing the real guys don’t do is call up the customer, while another is claim affiliation with, say, the PC or OS manufacturer. All calls are initiated by the computer user.

Microsoft Reports Steady Increase Of Windows 8 Sales

Even though Windows 8 was hated by most of the Windows operating system users, the number of sales of the operating system seems to be on the rise. According to Windows 8 help center, the company has already sold 100 million licenses of the program until now and is one of the Windows 8 milestones. The company also adds that the Windows Store now has 60,000 apps uploaded to it.

Now, it is not yet clear how many of those licenses are on PCs that are used today. The 100 million licenses include the ones in PC sales as well as those sold as a part of upgrades. According to Tami Reller, who is the vice president of Windows marketing, majority of the licenses sold are for new PCs. Reller says, "Upgrade season was pretty much over in January once all the offers expired." He adds, "So pretty much all of the growth from 60 to 100 [million] is new PCs."

It is to be noted that these PCs are shipped to the retailers and it is not necessary that all of them be sold to the customers. That means, many of them could be in the shelves of retail stores. With Windows 8, Microsoft had started to track the activations online and according to Reller, the number of activations shows a steady increase since the release of the operating system.

One of the major features of Windows 8 that was given much hype was the Start screen of the program that included many apps. The platform for the app, Windows Store, has also been seeing a steady increase in the number of apps uploaded. As of now, 60,000 apps are present in the Store. The company also reveals that more than 250 million download have been already done from the Windows Store.

Even though the above numbers are promising to the software giant, when you compare these numbers with the stats of iOS, they are too low. It is estimated that there are more than 800,000 apps on Apple Store and there has been more than 50 billion downloads.

For further information on Windows 8 OS, you may contact Omni Tech Support. You may search on the topic Omni Tech Support fraud before availing the support of the firm and you will find only happy customer experiences. There have been no reports of Omni Tech Support fraud and it is therefore one of the best technical support firms in the country.

Making Use Of The Excellent Calendar Features In MS Outlook

Though many of us use Outlook for personal communication, we can assume that with many different options and features available in the application, Microsoft originally designed it for business users. A very good example is the Outlook Calendar feature in the email management program. Such options help with Outlook task scheduling, organizing meetings, setting reminders, and other office-related tasks.

Using the Outlook Calendar feature

Microsoft has introduced many different options to help with Outlook Calendar management. However, it seems that not many users are aware of the different options available at hand. For example, you can change the Calendar view to different formats. There are Day, Week, and Month view options and each of these can be customized to show much more information in the Calendar according to your requirements.

In fact, you can modify the Calendar options to show a different time zone data, along with the one you are on right now as well. This will help you juggle with multiple scheduled events in different time zones. There are also settings for changing the appearance of the Calendar including its background colors, font, etc.

You can change the Outlook Calendar grid for a day to different time scale grids. Normally, the day will be divided into multiple grids of 30 minutes each, in which, you can assign events and set reminders by selecting one of them. But, you can easily change this using the Time Scale settings in Outlook Calendar. You can decrease or increase it to meet your requirements.

In the latest Outlook versions, you might have noticed that the Calendar displayed on the screen now shows two months, instead of just one, as in many of the older versions. This will help in remembering many of the upcoming scheduled events, and reduce the need of scrolling to the next month in the calendar every time you have to check or set an appointment.

Outlook calendar is designed to help you make quick data entries. This means that when the calendar is in the Month view, you can just click on any of the dates shown there and type in the text to mark an event. It is that simple and quick. In addition, it is also possible for you to move an existing event to a different day or timeslot by simply dragging and dropping it to the other point in the Calendar.

These are some tips on the Outlook Calendar utility. For other informative tips like these, go through the other articles posted here.

Windows XP EOS To Revive PC Sales

Windows XP comes into the category of the most popular operating system that has brought much success for the tech giant Microsoft. Even though it was introduced many years ago, the popularity of Windows XP has never decreased and it currently holds the second place in the market share just behind Windows 7. However, the tech giant ended the Windows XP help and support provided to this old operating system on April, 2014, which was a bad news for many of the users and companies who entirely depended upon Windows XP.

According to Gartner, businesses that had not ditched Windows XP until now are trying to get rid of it in a hurry. This is the reason why the sales of PC devices are on a rise. The main reason for such an increase is because of the fact that those businesses who are using Windows XP desktops are replacing them with newer versions of the operating system. In 2014, it is expected that PC sales decline will go from 9.5% last year to 2.9%, according to the research director at Gartner named Ranjit Atwal.

This was predicted by Ranjit Atwal by taking notebook, desk-based and other premium ultra mobile devices into consideration. He says, “2014 will be marked by a relative revival of the global PC market.” This means that there will be a total of 5 million sales all across the world. He says that, if you are taking traditional PCs, laptops and desktops into consideration, then the PC sales decline for this year will be 6.7%, which is expected to be 5.3% next year. Moreover, he predicts that this year, there will be 270 million sales of desktop PCs.

In a statement, Atwal says, “Business upgrades from Windows XP and the general business replacement cycle will lessen the downward trend, especially in Western Europe," and he continued by saying, “This year, we anticipate nearly 60 million professional PC replacements in mature markets.” He found out that there would also be some increase in the number of sales of the premium ultra mobile devices. According to him, the sales of tables are expected to grow by 23.9%, whereas a 49.9% growth will be seen for ultra premium mobile devices.

The Atwal’s report says that all the major operating systems like Apple, Android and Windows will show an increase in sales, but their share will decrease from 27.1% this year to 21% next year. Reports suggest that Android will dominate the market with 52.8%, whereas Windows and Apple will have 14.4% and 11.6% respectively.

Resolve Outlook Express Issues

Outlook Express is one of the most popular email clients, which comes bundled with earlier versions of Internet Explorer. The best thing about this free email management program is that it is compatible with both IMAP as well as POP3 protocol. Moreover, it even contains a built-in newsreader. Though it sounds similar to Microsoft Outlook, there is not much in common with them, except for the same architectural philosophy that they both share.

Outlook Express normally functions without issues, but like any software program, it is not immune to corruption and various other issues entirely. Obviously, any issue in the program requires troubleshooting. So, read on to learn some easy troubleshooting steps to deal with common issues in the application, as provided by the Outlook Express help team.

Addressing the issues in Outlook Express

The most annoying issue is the one when your Outlook Express takes a good deal of time to load. Outlook Express help team highlights that the issue can be resolved easily, by tinkering with some settings in the program. Let us see how to do that.

Steps to follow
  • Launch Outlook Express and then go to Tools menu.
  • Open Options, and uncheck the Automatically log on to Windows Messenger option.
  • Restart the program, and check if the troubleshooting helped to fix your slow loading issues.
Another common issue is the Error 0x800420CB. This error restricts Outlook Express from launching. Here is how to fix it.
  • Go to Tools menu in Outlook Express application and open Accounts. Proceed to the Mail tab in the pop-up box.
  • Select the duplicate mail account there and then click on Remove. You need to keep doing this until all the duplicated accounts are deleted.
  • When done, restart the application and check if the error is resolved.
In case you are still facing the issue, then try changing the name of the Outbox.dbx file. You will be able to locate this file using the Windows search utility.

Another problem in Outlook Express involves the hyperlinks not working in the email client. For that, open Run command box, type regsvr32 urlmon.dll in the text field. Now, launch Internet Explorer, go to Tools, open Internet Options, and click on Reset Web Settings. This will fix your problems with hyperlinks opening.

These are some of the common issues in Outlook Express and their resolution. For more such troubleshooting tips, browse through other posts here, or call our tech support team for online chat support.

Set Confirmation Before Sending A Message In Microsoft Office Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is probably the best email management software created by the world’s largest software developer, Microsoft Corporation. Outlook has many useful features for various emailing needs. Apart from email sending and receiving, there are many other features available in Outlook. Most Outlook features are available for the purpose of enhancing the overall emailing experience. The true potential of Microsoft Outlook is in the excellent customizability of it. Using Outlook you can tailor-make your own email the way you like it to be displayed and send it to the recipient. In this article, we will discuss about the Outlook setting for forcing a confirmation for a moment before sending an important business email.

There can be many reasons why you may require setting up Outlook to ask for confirmation before sending a mail. The confirmation will then force you to pause for a moment before sending an email. Actually, Microsoft Outlook 2013 does not have a dedicated feature that explicitly provides you the facility to add Confirmation before sending an email. But, there is a workaround, which is more often useful. In your Outlook setting you will see that you are asked to indicate whether you want Microsoft Outlook to remember your account password. Now, if you choose not to have the email client remember your password, the program will prompt for password verification. This will happen every time you send an email. This way, you will be required to stop and confirm that you want to send the message.
  • This is a wonderful method giving you time to decide whether you want to send the message or not. This avoids mistakes done unwittingly like sending a message that you should have not sent. Here are the instructions to guide you with enabling the workaround.
  • First, you need to go to ‘File’ in Outlook. Then, you need to click on ‘Account Settings’ and then click on ‘Account Settings’ again. This way, you will load Outlook's Account Settings panel.
  • Next, you need to click on the ‘Email’ tab. Then, you need to choose the email account, for which you want to add Confirmation.
  • Then, you need to click on the ‘Change’ button located just above the list of accounts
  • After that, you need to click on the box labeled ‘Remember Password’ to remove the check mark from it.
This is an excellent workaround providing you a moment’s time to decide whether you wish to continue with sending your email. This way, you can avoid blunders like sending a wrong message to wrong person or many other things you might not have noticed.

Directions For Importing Emails From Gmail To Outlook

Gmail is a webmail service. According to some statistics, it is the most widely used webmail service in the world. Like all other webmail services, you sign in to your Gmail account via your web browser. You need active internet connection to do anything in your Gmail account. If the internet connection is interrupted, you won’t be able to log into your Gmail account or view any email messages in the inbox.

By importing all your email messages from Gmail to Microsoft Outlook, you can view all the inbox messages in the Outlook inbox. You can operate all Outlook features except sending and receiving emails when there is no internet connection. So, once you have your emails in Outlook, you can read them even if there is an internet outage. The changes you have to make in your Outlook setting in order to import emails from your Gmail account are discussed below.

Instruction
  • First of all, you need to add your Gmail account to Microsoft Outlook. For this, log into your Gmail account and navigate to Gmail Settings.
  • Select the tab labelled Forwarding POP3/IMAP. Under this tab, you will see the option to enable POP3/IMAP email forwarding. Verify your email protocol. It should be either IMAP protocol or POP3 Protocol. You should add your account to Outlook based on the email protocol. Once the email protocol is added to Outlook, it will be enabled to import email messages from your Gmail inbox.
  • The major difference between POP3 and IMAP protocols is that the former allows email client applications like Outlook to import only the copies of the emails. On the other hand, IMAP Protocol enables the email client to synchronize the account. While using POP3 protocol in Outlook, you will be able to delete email messages from either of the inboxes without impacting the other. On the other hand, while using IMAP protocol, you won’t be able to delete messages from one inbox without affecting the other.
  • Once you are done with modifying Gmail settings to enable IMAP/POP3 forwarding, launch your Outlook application. Go to the Outlook setting and make necessary changes in it to start importing the email messages. Remember, you need to have active internet connection in order to import emails from Gmail in Outlook.
With the help of the above instructions, you would have enabled Outlook to import emails from Gmail. You can enable Outlook to import emails from any of your favourite webmail accounts in the same manner.

All You Need To Know About The Windows Registry

All the data and settings of your operating system are stored in the Windows Registry. All the Windows Registry entries contain a specific value that determines the characteristics of a setting or program. According to Windows tech support, you can make changes to the registry entries using the tool Registry Editor. However, changing the registry entries to the wrong values or deleting an important registry entry can affect the operating system and could even lead to its crash.

Many errors show up in the computer due to a change in the registry entries or due to wrong registry entries. Miradore To Add Windows Phone Support To Their MDM Service

Many companies these days are implementing the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy allowing employees to bring their own smartphones and tablets to work. This reduces the IT infrastructure burden on the company and makes things easier for the employees.

Using the Miradore MDM service

One of the main concerns many organizations have about implementing BYOD policy, is with networking all these different devices properly online, ensuring secure transmission of the data among these devices, and so on. There are many IT firms providing the online cloud service to take care of these needs. A good example is the Mobile Device Management service from Miradore.

Using Miradore’s online cloud service, you can easily manage all the different mobile devices connected to the corporate network. Miradore launched this service only recently, and is still in the beta phase. But, Mobile Device Management is currently available for free, and you can install the app in all the mobile devices to start using the service.

When the beta version of the service was first launched, it supported only the Google Android and Apple iOS phones. There was no Windows support, which left this service out of reach for all the Windows Phone users. The main reason for this decision was the small user base for the Windows Phone OS.

However, Miradore soon started receiving requests to launch the service for the Windows Phone OS as well. And, the company has now added Windows support to their online Mobile Device Management service. There are slight differences when it comes to the features of this service on different mobile OS platforms.

You can visit the Miradore website, where you will find a table displaying the features and options available for the service on different smartphone operating systems. Remember that the MDM service is still in its beta phase, and more features and options are likely to be added in the coming. For now, the free version MDM service sets no limit on the number of devices that can be attached to the network. But, this might change when the service moves from the beta phase to production.

Miradore has made it clear that the free version will still be available even after the beta phase. But, some of the features will be locked and you will have to upgrade to a paid version for accessing them. The full paid version is expected to be launched before the end of this year.

How To Install New Drivers In Windows 8

Device Drivers are nifty little software that let the Windows operating system communicate with hardware that are plugged in to the computer. Some hardware come with the drivers built-in so the Windows operating system can install them straight from the hardware instead of going online. The Microsoft operating system itself stores few generic drivers that enable you to plug-and-play devices.

In most circumstances, Windows 8 automatically recognizes the new device when it’s plugged in. Sometimes, it needs to download Windows 8 drivers online when connected with a new device. At times, Windows 8 even needs to fetch some automated instructions although it has the device drivers needed to interact with the hardware.

Window 8 drivers have to be downloaded when you plug-in a device that is either too old or too new to be remembered by the system. That is when you see the same old “needing a new driver” message that you are so used to seeing in older versions of Windows operating system!

In such cases, you have to find and install the much needed Windows 8 drivers before you can interact with the device. Most new devices come built-in with the drivers needed to run or come bundled with an installation program that will place a GUI to interact with the device as well as drivers to function properly.

Here’s what you have to do to locate and install the latest driver suitable for the device.

Go to the manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver
  • Search the box in which the device came in to check for the manufacturer’s website. If you can’t locate it, a simple online search of the manufacturer’s name would do.
  • Once you open the website, check for the device drivers in the Support or Downloads page. If you are lucky, the website would give away the driver once you furnish the device details.
  • If you can’t find a Windows 8 compatible driver, try downloading the Windows 7 driver instead. In most cases, they work equally well.
Run the installation Program Furnished by the Driver
  • Some installation programs have device drivers bundled with them and simple installing of the program will install the suitable driver as well.
Through the Device Manager
  • Right-click on the bottom left corner of the screen and select Device Manager.
  • A list of every device that is attached to your computer will appear on your screen. You can identify the faulty one with the yellow exclamation mark on it.
  • Select the device and then click on Action to view the drop-down menu bar. Choose the Add Legacy hardware from this menu and follow the instructions and prompts by the Add Hardware Wizard.

Internet Explorer 11 Breaks Microsoft’s CRM Software

Compatibility issues have been a major problem with the Internet Explorer 11 as the problem still plagues the web browser. Some of the Microsoft customers are complaining that the latest version of Internet Explorer does not work with one of the products from Microsoft. The users first raised the red flag about the Internet Explorer in October and many reports surfaced that the web browser is rendering a number of websites functionless, including many of the Google and Outlook.com services from Microsoft.

Microsoft had released a fix for this particular issue, even though the reason for the cropping up of these was unclear. It seems that the latest and so-called powerful browser from the Redmond giant seems to be at it again. Moreover, like before, a Microsoft product is taking the hit. This information was confirmed after contacting the Microsoft help and support service team.

Daria Barteneva, who is a service engineer with Microsoft, blogged that the customers of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online are having issues running the initial configuration of the new CRM Online instances. This includes the free trials also. Barteneva had posted a workaround for the issue, but that was not a big comfort for the affected users. Compatibility View is the name for the mode that makes the latest version of IE behave as if it is an earlier version, complete with the version rendering web standard incompatibilities and quirks.

Microsoft support organization has also published an updated document that lists the browser compatibility for Dynamics CRM. In it, the latest supported version of the Internet Explorer web browser is listed as IE10. Only the desktop version of IE10 is supported. This means that the touch-enabled version for the Windows 8 Start Screen will not work properly.

This news will be a disappointment for the users who have upgraded to Windows 8.1, as the IE11 was included as a part of the upgrade and to increase the disappointment, there is no way to roll back to the old version once you are running the latest operating system from Windows. Finding another computer to run the setup or switching to the Compatibility View is the only option for these customers. If you wish to know more on this news, you can contact the Microsoft help and support service team. They will be able to provide you with more updates on the compatibility issues of Internet Explorer 11.

Comparison Of Windows 7 And Windows 8 Operating Systems

Windows 8 operating system’s interface is one of those interfaces that look really cool on ads, but appears to be designed to be used more with touch screen devices in mind. I am running the Windows 8 operating system on a 4 GB RAM Pentium processor Acer laptop that is trying to support the Windows 8 OS and frankly, it is not doing a great job. In a world of instant gratification, nobody will wish to wait for 30 seconds for the apps to load, when it takes only 2 seconds for these apps to load on other computers. The Windows 8 OS is supposed to be pretty speedy.

I guess that the Windows 8 operating system would be more exciting on an i7 processor that could support the features of Windows 8 and will be able to run the operating system more efficiently. Once you reach the Start page of the OS, you will see a tile that allows the users to click on the desktop. But in reality, many of the users like the desktop of Windows 7 operating system more than that of the Windows 8 OS. The Windows 7 vs Windows 8 page states that the desktop of Windows 8 works much like the desktop of Windows 7, but there is no Start button in the Windows 8 operating system.

Instead, the user can slide the mouse over the left hand corner and a picture of the tile will pop up so that the user will be able to jump into the Start page. It is true that the Windows 8 operating system is more effective with touch screen laptop computers. The user can slide the mouse over the upper left hand corner and then slide down to see what other programs and apps are open at the given time. The apps that are not on the desktop will not open on the desktop, meaning that you will not be able to access them at the same time unless you click and drag them to the side of the screen so that you can have two apps open simultaneously.

It will take a while for the user to get the hang of the Windows 8 operating system. If you wish to know more on the features and comparison of the Windows 8 and Windows 7 operating systems, you can visit the Windows 7 vs Windows 8 page in the official Microsoft website.

The Outlook Vs Gmail War

Microsoft consolidated all of their email services like Live, Hotmail and Outlook to a single email service last year in an effort to make the email service more powerful and widespread. Until recent years, the technical community has without any disputes agreed to the fact that Gmail and Google will be dominating the electronic messages community in the future. However, Microsoft introduced their Outlook.com email service in an effort to get back the post that was rightfully theirs. Google took the zenith position in the email services industry from Microsoft’s Hotmail email service by introducing the Gmail service.

With the presence of new advanced features in Outlook.com, Microsoft is planning to take the zenith position again. It is heard that the company has made many improvements in their webmail service. The company has included better and advanced rules for managing the emails perfectly and in an ordered manner. Microsoft has even included an import tool for helping Gmail users with the Outlook email setup. With this new tool in place, switching to Outlook email from Gmail has become a hassle free process.

The company has also made some new advanced rules in the Outlook.com so that you will be able to set you inbox in an ordered manner. Microsoft posted about this in their Outlook email setup website saying, "This can be a lot to handle, so helping you get to the email you care about is one of our top priorities, you will be getting more control over how your emails are sorted, filed or bumped to the top of your inbox. You can create multi-condition and multi-action rules and set your inbox to organize itself automatically. Advanced Rules allow you to combine your existing rules together and customize them to suit you."

The main feature of Outlook Rules is that it is pretty easy to configure them; even a person with little knowledge about the program will be able to sort his emails easily using the Rules in outlook.com. One of the new features of the email service is the Reply-In button, clicking on this button will allow the users to see the message and the reply message side by side, there is no need for opening a new box or page for sending the reply. With all these new features, it is for sure that Microsoft is set to conquer the email market again.
