Removing The Ask Adware Toolbar

Adware applications, unlike computer viruses, are not harmful per se. But, they would change your computer settings and take you to the some particular website every now and then, creating much inconvenience to the users. The Ask toolbar falls in to this category. It is not a computer virus. But, this adware toolbar would change your browser settings.

Once, the Ask toolbar is installed in your system, the browser homepage would be changed to the Ask.com website. Similarly, the browser search bar would also be changed to the Ask bar. If you do not want to use the Ask website or the toolbar, then you need to get rid of this adware toolbar from the system.

Removing the Ask toolbar from the system

Over the years, the Ask adware toolbar has affected thousands of users online, prompting the software developers to design toolbar removal tools for it. You can easily find and download an Ask toolbar removal tool online and use it get rid of this annoying adware application. Of course, this is only necessary, if the normal method of uninstalling the toolbar does not work.

First, go to the Control Panel and click on the Add or Remove Programs option. This would launch the Add or Remove Programs wizard, which would display all the installed programs in the system. Find the Ask toolbar in this list, select it, and then press the Uninstall button. In most cases, this would remove the toolbar and you would no longer see the Ask toolbar, once you restart the system.

However, in some cases, this might not work. And, the Ask toolbar would be back on the browser menu, when you restart the system. In such cases, you need to use an Ask toolbar removal tool. Final Uninstaller is one such freeware toolbars available online. Just search online for the Final Uninstaller and download its installer file to your system.

Install and run the Final Uninstaller. You would find the Scan button on the application main window. Click on it to start the scan for unwanted adware applications in your system. Select the Ask toolbar from the list displayed and press the Remove button.

This would remove all the traces of the Ask toolbar from your system. When you restart the computer, the Ask toolbar would no longer be there on your browser menu.
